The 2007 OCA-FC Scholarship
Purpose:
Encourages children of OCA-FC members to be involved in the community
Encourages these youths to be inquisitive about the world around them
Motivates them to keep abreast of current events
Inspires them to be leaders in their field of study or in an extracurricular activity
Awards:
OCA-FC sets aside $500 annually for this scholarship. Maximum per head allocation is $150, meaning that if five applicants
were selected, each would receive $100. If one is selected, he/she gets the $150 maximum.
Requirements:
Children of current OCA-FC member
Junior or senior in high school
(prior scholarship recipient is not eligible to apply)
Grade point average of B or above
Completed application form
Proven leadership quality (eq: title holder of a sport)
Submission of a two-page, double-spaced essay on the topic below:
"How can we as Asian-Americans contribute to the strength of the United States in the World today?"
Deadline
All documents must be postmarked by September 9, 2005.

Academic Achievement 30%
Leadership Qualities 30%
Active participation in & contribution to extracurricular activites 20%
Active participation in & contribution to OCA-FC activities 20%
(supported by endorsement of either one CLS teacher or OCA-FC Director)
