About our Chinese School

OCAFC founded The Chinese School of Fairfield County in 1975. Since then, the school has taught Traditional Chinese to several hundred of students for many generations. To date, the school has close to 10 classes with extremely well prepared teachers who are very encouraging in terms of teaching the traditional mandarin languages to young children starting in Pre-K. 

Children’s Ages: 5 – 18 years
Language Classes (10 Levels): Every Sunday 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Culture Classes: 3:30 – 4:30

Our culture classes include Arts & Crafts, Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, Chorus, Folk Dance, Kungfu, Homework Tutoring Center for children, Chinese Painting, Calligraphy and Taichi for parents.
THE STUDENTS 
We welcome all students from all different cultures and countries. Our Students enjoy learning in a healthy and traditional environment. They enjoy the culture classes and they often take advantage of the homework help provided right after class. Our goal is to prepare students with basic mandarin speaking and writing skills.

THE TEACHERS
Our teachers and administrative staff are all University or College level graduates from China, Taiwan and/or the U.S. and they come to us dedicated to the highest teaching standards, with the same goals and aspirations for our students as our students have for themselves. 

 Each teacher is designated to teach BOTH simplified Chinese AND traditional Chinese class (students choose one) at one academic level.

SPECIAL EVENTS 
As part of our Chinese culture, throughout the year we prepare the kids to perform during special events such as Thanksgiving, Chinese New Year and School Graduation. 
Culture Classes are offered on Sundays from : 3:30 - 4:30 PM during the school calendar year.
